Shakespeare Santa Cruz Auditions for Summer 2010 Season
for 2010 Shakespeare Santa Cruz will be presenting Love's Labour's Lost and Othello in the outdoor glen and The Lion in Winter by James Goldman in the indoor Mainstage.
That said, we are looking to cast Equity actors, non-Equity actors, and acting interns.
Mr. Barricelli is unable to hold auditions this year on the East Coast. For those in New York, Chicago, or elsewhere, if you would like to send a DVD audition of two monologues (one should be Shakespeare), please do so. Please include your head shot and resumé. Mr. Barricelli does give equal weight to both DVD submissions and in-person auditions.
For those in Seattle even though there will be no general audition please submit a headshot and resume and if Mr. Barricelli is interested we will make arrangement for him to see you.
For those in the Sacramento area please audition either in San Francisco or Santa Cruz- see audition dates below.
DVDs are a viable way of auditioning for all actors. Please submit DVDs no later than February 2, 2010. If there is a web site for Marco to link to, that also can work. Please include any necessary password with your submission.
Please DO NOT submit mini-DVD’s or VHS.
If you wish to verify our receipt of your submission, please include a self-addressed, stamped postcard, which we will return as soon as we get your materials.
If you have questions, please contact Gina Marie Hayes at [email protected] or 831-459-5109.

If Mr. Barricelli thinks you may be a match for the season, you will receive a phone call from a casting assistant, probably a week to two weeks out from the auditions at your appropriate site.
Any actor living in Santa Cruz County is guaranteed an audition appointment, but you do need to submit in a timely manner.
The season begins June 21 with a Company meeting; rehearsals begin June 22. The last shows play in the evening of Sunday August 29.
Our companies are traditionally a mix of Equity actors as well as key roles for non-Equity actors. SSC is a true repertory company, with cast members performing in two plays.
